Integrity
By integrity we mean the protection of data against manipulation. Data integrity means ensuring the accuracy of data and the functioning of systems.
In relation to data, integrity means that data is unchanged and complete. When data is exchanged between processors, unauthorised alteration by third parties can occur during data transport, such as manipulation of author or time information. A breach can also be caused by malware from outside or from inside due to the hardware used, for example by a hidden Trojan.

The protection goals are closely related to each other and influence each other. The focus is on protecting one’s own data sphere from attacks by third parties. The more measures a company implements to achieve the protection goals, the stronger the data is protected and the higher the information security can be rated.
