IT Operations
The individual components of an IT infrastructure are summarised under the term IT operations. Components of an IT infrastructure are the operation of end devices, servers, databases and applications and other IT components.

The graphic representation gives a – non-exhaustive – overview of possible components of an IT infrastructure, divided here into objects, such as air-conditioning or distribution systems, the hardware and software and information management.
The technical IT infrastructure is supplemented by the institutional and personnel conditions with information management. This includes laws and standards (e.g. data protection laws, data protection and data security guidelines) and organisational structures (e.g. IT department, data protection committee) that have an influence on the technical IT infrastructure.
